Habitually using a sketchbook has been an integral part of my practice for over a decade. While finished books contain many drawings, they mostly function as a space for note-taking, list-making and other planning. They are a place to record bad drawings, slapdash building plans and foolish words. They are sincere, friendly, confident, and full of energy, something I strive for but rarely achieve in finished works.
